Some pretty exciting news..

Hey my lovelies!! ♥

I hope you’re all wrapping yourselves up warm and preparing yourself for the winter, yes it’s coming!! Theres no denying that, Ohhh goodbye summer, heeeeellooooo winter!

Okay so this post is going to be dedicated to something I’m really excited about that I thought I might share with you guys. So as you all know I’m not living in the UK anymore I’m in New York, and I’m studying acting for film at the film academy. So far it’s been incredible, and I’ve met some truly wonderful people, and maybe even some lifelong friends. Now, I’ve been biting my tongue for so long about this now but I can’t keep it in any longer!! So a handful of my classmates and I have decided to start our own small production company, which we will be creating and performing our own material, and various other things. Even though we’re all completely swamped with school work we wanted to all get together and try and create something special. I’m letting you know this because it’s our first official filming date tomorrow where we will be acting out some of our material we’ve already written out. Our location has been confirmed which is an absolute bonus!! Once we’ve got all our footage together and we’ve edited it all (yes we’re doing it ourselves 😮 ) we will be uploading our footage onto youtube – we are making a channel where you’ll be able to find all of our previous and upcoming videos. We call our group ‘The Ruffians’ Okay now I know you probably think that’s a strange name but we have a story behind the name haha. But right now I cannot reveal that – Hint: there may be a future video explaining everything! Like I said myself and the rest of my team are all super excited for the future!! With all of our talent within the group and dedication and most importantly our friendship I think we’re about to discover something truly beautiful, and go on a wonderful journey together! If people wanna know the link I will post it in a next blog once we have uploaded our first video!! We can’t wait! Eeeeeee!

Not only are we launching this week we also have prepared a ‘Halloween special’ for you all, as it is the season of haunting spooky things! 😛

I’ll keep you posted! Keep your eyes peeled for the link!!!

Warm hugs,

Laurie loo x

Trick or treat myself?? 🎃👻

BOO!! 🎃👻🕷🕸

Hello my lovely readers! 💜

Welcome back for starters!! ⭐️ I’m just starting to get myself back into the swing of things when it comes to blogging so I apologise if I’m a little rusty! Bare with me haha, in the meantime I thought I’d write another little entry for all of you. ☺️

… So today’s post is going to be a little different but I’m sure it can still relate to almost each and every one of you in some way.. maybe it’s now.. maybe you’re finding yourself in the same situation I am!

Alrighty here goes, so I have a little confession to make… this past month I have been bingeing to max!! Takeout every other night, tubs of icecream, anything naughty that tickled my fancy really! At first I didn’t really take much notice of my food intake but my god the other evening it really hit me when I completely finished off my SECOND multipack of kitkats in almost a couple days. I knew I had a problem on my hands. I’m hoping I caught myself just in time before I hit the point of no return!!

Okay so now I’ve come clean about my recent kitkat obsession, I wondered if this had happened to anyone else. So as it’s October and as you all know Halloween at the end of this month, I thought I would go to the store and just have a look around a see if they had any cheap facepaints so that I could practice my makeup before it’s officially Halloween. The usual, what I didn’t plan on was the amount of discounts and deals on the sweets and chocolate. 🍫 🍭 Of course I forgot people still go trick or treating so there were hundreds and hundreds of bags of candy bars and all sorts of delicious treats. Now being the easily persuaded person I am I grabbed a couple of bags and rushed myself home. I began writing an assignment that was due over the next couple of days, I soon realised it was 2am and I was reaching for what I thought was my second bar of chocolate only to find that the entire bag was filled with chocolate bar wrappers… I had demolished them all without even realising!!! I felt so ashamed and this is where I knew I had a problem!

So as of today I have decided to make the firm decision that I am going to try my hardest to eat healthier and actually go for a run once and a while and maybe even the gym??? – I have no excuses really, I have a membership to one that has 3 levels of equipment (I’m just so lazy to walk there haha). So I was just wondering if you lovely people had any advise or either health plans/ exercise routines or food prep  to help get me motivated!?! I don’t wanna feel like I’m doing this alone, but I’m so tired of feeling like a couch potato, especially since moving to the states all I do is take the subway everywhere and eat because it’s all so available to me!

I feel like I need to make a change to my every day life, and yes I know you’re probably thinking oh let’s see how long this lasts, because let’s be honest we’ve all said we were going to be healthier and start the gym at one point and here we are a year or 2 later back at square one. Saying the same things over and over again “diet starts tomorrow” and then you find yourself instead of having a cheat meal, that soon becomes a cheat day, and then that cheat day becomes a cheat week… and so on… you get the picture haha. I’ll be the first one to admit this is me aswell, but this time I feel like I can do this! Not drastically change my lifestyle but you know just make it a little less traumatic in the sense that I can finish off 2 bags of kitkats in 2 days 😳 c’mon that must be some sort of piggy record!! 😂😫

So if you know of any advise to help get me started please feel free to leave me a comment! Even just a simple ‘you got this girl’ could be the difference between me getting a Big Mac and me going for a run 😂😂

There’s still hope for me!

Do you have any naughty treat obsessions too? – let me know!! (You know you have them, please don’t make me feel bad alone haha).
All my love,

👻🎃🕷 Happy Halloween 👻🎃🕷

Autumn is finally here 🍁🍂

Hey my flowers! 🌸🌺🌻🌼🌹🌷

I thought I’d write a little post today to let you know some of my thoughts about Autumn. Now today was the first day I’ve actually felt like autumn was here, I had a meeting about my OPT (which is something that allows me to work next year in the states within my field of study) I decided to walk home from this meeting and oh my, the sites I saw walking across the Brooklyn bridge were absolutely delightful. There is nothing I love more than feeling the crisp air on my face and seeing my breath misting away, and being completely wrapped up in my warm coat, a scarf, hat and 2 pairs of fluffy socks my grandma sent me in the mail as she didn’t want me to be ‘chilly’ this winter so she says.

I thought I’d share with you all a few of my autumn to go to products, I love October and I tend to clear out my makeup bag around this time every year to make room for the new delights I pick up in the sales. However being in New York now I haven’t been able to find these deals I usually find back home so I just popped to my local stores Duane reade and CVS. I did venture out to Sephora aswell but didn’t pick anything up this time, I’m saving myself for Christmas!!
Anyways, while out on my makeup adventure I found myself some “wet n wild” products. I’d never used these before nor had I actually heard of them, but I was drawn to them and they were relatively cheap so I picked up some of their photo focus foundation and off I popped. My god. For $5.99 this product is incredible. I was a little skeptical at first because I’d never heard of the product before (then again I am from the UK – and this is an American brand haha ), I was super impressed with the outcome. It is such a light product and it feels weightless on the face. I found it gave me a light / medium coverage which I like because I don’t like to be fully caked in makeup, but I then did a second layer and found it was very buildable – for me. I was able to achieve a full coverage look and it lasted all night – to which I was dancing and very hot for the majority of the night so I was very suprised it’s lasted so well – especially for $5.99! What a bargain! You can find this in most of your local drugstores in the U.S but they also have a website where I believe you can get it shipped for extra cost depending on your location.

Another thing I was amazed to find out was that all of the wet ‘n’ wild products are actually vegan friendly and cruelty free – which is a major thing for me when settling down and committing to a product. I checked to see the price range of most of the products and to my suprise they were all very cheap, varied between $3.99- $9.99 – this is my kinda product! I have definitely added a new favourite foundation to my makeup bag this autumn. I love this formula it’s so light and velvety – holy grail at its best!! I cannot wait to try out some of their other products! Especially their eye shadow pallets they look.. increddddiiibleeeeee!

What’s your favourite season??? Tell me what you think in the comments below! ❤️

I think I’m a wet ‘n’ wild convert!!!

Warm hugs,

Guess who’s back?!

Hi all!

Long time no speak right? That’s my bad I apologise, I moved. As many of you know if you’d read some of my previous posts last year I’d applied to study in New York City at the film academy, and I got the audition!!! (Woo yay), but there were a few funding issues. However I managed to pull a few strings and managed to get myself out here, which is where I have been living for the past 6 months or so. – Which is why I’ve been unable to blog, pretty naf excuse I know but I’ve been pretty bombarded with school work, and shooting! But I’ve decided I’m going to try my absolute best to get on top of my blogging again, and this will become a whole lot easier once I’ve got my new laptop which I should be picking up next week – so that’s exciting!

Anyways… I thought I’d just do a quick little post updating you all on what’s been happening and how I’m finding my new life in New York! And a few of my particular favourite things I’ve done or come across while living in the city.
For starters…

I absolutely love it out here!!!!

There is such a sense of freedom that I’ve never experienced anywhere else in the world, now I don’t know if that’s because I literally packed up my bags and moved to the other side of the world on my own so I feel a little like a bad ass or.. maybe it’s just the city! There is so much creativity over here and so many people love the arts! I rarely hear anything negative which I have experienced back home when talking about the arts.
Also last month I moved from manhattan to Brooklyn heights and oh emmmm gee!!!! I love it over here even more than I loved manhattan! I think it’s because back home I practically live in the middle of nowhere surrounded by trees and fields and so much nature, and Brooklyn heights has a little bit or nature which I love. Every weekend I try and take myself for a little walk and go for an adventure, it reminds me of those long days I would pick up my dog and take her for a 4/5 journey through many fields and both myself and my pup would love it! It’s a little less work orientated here which means I actually feel relaxed whereas when I was in manhattan I was constantly on the go, I couldn’t really sleep because I was hearing police cars etc which used to make me feel so so homesick and the peace and quiet. It’s a lot more chilled over here over in Brooklyn, and some of the views from the promenade overlooking the city are absolutely breath taking. I am so lucky.
I love that you’re never really alone in the city, it could be 3am on a Tuesday evening – when I finish shooting for a film up in Times Square and there would still be hundreds and hundreds of people around. Surprisingly I feel very safe in the city, which before coming here I did not think was possible after all of the programs like CSI I’d watched.. haha I guess that was my own fault judging this place before experiencing it for myself! But now I know haha. I feel like it’s one of the safest places in the world, and the majority of people you meet are lovely. Even the “do you wanna go see the Statue of Liberty” guys.. haha yes you know the ones.

Anyway this was just a quick little hey to let you all know that I’ll be back in action very soon! I’ve missed you guys.
Warm hugs,
Laurie x
